To know how to paint and sketch is actually what all of us want learn. The oldest known drawings are drawings of animals: birds, horses, antelopes, cats, dogs. Animals always meant a great deal to people. In each country in various historical periods, animals were symbols for different things. They even today still symbolize war, peace or happiness. The British Empire, for example is symbolized by the lion, while Germany is symbolized by the eagle. It is therefore no wonder why animals are likely to be treated in art. Animals are harder to sketch than people, because they won’t stay still at our request, but will act contrary to it.
